Prevention of malaria includes insect precautions and medications.

Travelers going to a malaria-endemic country presenting with flu-like symptoms or fever should seek immediate medical evaluation and advise of countries visited within the last year.

  • Traveler's diarrhea

Traveler’s diarrhea is one of the most common illnesses acquired during travel. It is caused by eating contaminated food or drinking unclean water.

Prevention includes washing your hands and choosing food and drinks carefully.

Treatment is dependent on the severity of your symptoms. A treatment plan includes over the counter medications for milder symptoms and antibiotics for more severe symptoms.
